Choose an article from the article manager.  When you're done editing the article, click the Workflow button at the bottom of the editor.  Click the staging tab in the resulting window, and check the box.  Click "Save" and the window will close.  When you save this article, the changes made will not go live, instead they will be stored as a staged version.
